welcome to hi-tech emotions radio

a website to host the mixes I've recently made, because I thought it would be fun, and also mixcloud's UI is boring. I've called it 'hi-tech emotions radio' in honour of Hi-Tec Emotions, a Naarm band I used to love and listen to heaps but forgot about until very recently. It's also to honour my love of highly emotional music, be it emo and pop punk, heavy music of many genres, sad girl music (non-gender specific), spoken word, and a bunch of other stuff probably.

i type as i talk, i text while i walk to you

on an eleven hour train from eora sydney to naarm melbourne, I realised that while I couldn't really access the internet, I could access the music files I'd saved on my computer and make a mix to pass the time. so i did just that, using only songs that had come up on my ipod during the journey. this is that mix.

you showed me the meadow, and milkwood and silkwood, and you would if i would, but you never would

i found this mix half finished, in a folder titled 'piano mix' on my desktop. i think this must've been one of the first mixes i ever made, and then gave up on because i couldn't figure out how to finish it. well i've finished it now, and i've ended up really liking it - i guess giving things time does help, even if that time ends up being two and a half years because you completely forgot about it.

i started making this mix for the strange time between xmas and new year, when everything feels kind of slow and maybe how life should actually be. i also included a song from a videogame i played during this time called 'after love ep', which i really liked.

the start of this mix came about from me trying to figure out what song the cold hands, warm heart remix track reminded me of. turns out it was the opening to glass by bat for lashes. there's also some australian pop punk at the end because I saw TOWNS and teenage joans play last month and had a great time.
